30 homes and counting


Only two more weeks of camp left at Dayspring!  So far teams from all over the U.S. have served in over 30 homes around the Marion County area of West Virginia.  From roofing to painting and repairs to building additions on homes, there has been a wide variety of projects completed. 

Here is a taste of what week 5 at Dayspring was like...

Calvary Presbyterian Church of Willow Grove, PA served this week in Carolina by:

Repairing and replacing front porch floor
Repairing roof over front porch
Repairing back porch steps and steps beside garage
Repairing gutter on right side of house
Repairing/ replaced roof over basement entrance
Replacing damage ceiling tiles in front bedroom

Covenant Presbyterian Church from Harleysville, PA served this week in Carolina by:

Repairing ceiling and kitchen
Painting all ceilings
Sealing front porch roof
Painting exterior of trailer

First Reformed Presbyterian Church from Pittsburgh, PA served two homeowners this week in Fairmont by:

Painting exterior of house
Reroofing garage
Building a privacy wall in bathroom
Repairing plaster in bedroom
Support living room floor
Repairing stairwell wall and making access for bathtub plumbing
Sealing around tub and installing sink faucet
Painting stairs woodwork
Replacing drop ceiling in bedroom
Building shelter behind a house
Replacing a window
Sealing floor and ceiling areas in kitchen

Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Newark from Newark, DE and Heritage Presbyterian Church of New Castle, DE served side by side this week helping three homeowners in Carolina by:

Scraping and painting exterior of home
Repairing some side boards on home
Repairing damaged window trim on windows
Painting dining room and bedroom
Building a deck on back of home
Installing new exterior door from kitchen to back deck
Repairing soffit and fascia above garage
Painting and reinstalling shutters
Building a cover above side door
Installing light

Hillcrest Presbyterian Church from Volant, PA served two homeowners this week in Fairmont by:

Repairing plaster
Priming and painting upstairs bedroom
Replacing missing spindles on stairs railing
Repair blocks under front porch and concrete
Replacing windows in living room, hallway, and kitchen
Cleaning out gutters
Cleaning outside of windows
Painting dining room and living room
Replacing tiles in kitchen ceilings
Installing railing along basement stairs
Repairing/rebuilding steps at bottom of basement stairs

Lansdale Presbyterian Church of Lansdale, PA served in Caroline this week by:

Repairing floor in living room and replacing damaged paneling
Repairing floor in bedrooms and damaged paneling
Replacing light fixtures in three bedrooms
Building new stairs on back of house
Installing floor covering in kitchen

New Hope Presbyterian Church of Clemmons, NC served in Fairmont this week by:

Painting the exterior of home
Repairing damage along eaves and painting
Repairing gutters

Pinewood Presbyterian Church from Middleburg, FL served in Barrackville this week by:

Installing wiring and plumbing in new back bathroom
Installing toilet, sink, and shower
Installing siding on home and new back room
Building steps and small deck
Building wall to divide back room and installing door to bathroom

Reformed Presbyterian Church from Lookout Mountain, GA served in Fairmont this week by:

Building a larger deck and wider stairs on front entrance
Removing window and install new window beside entrance
Painting molding around windows and foundation at front and left side and soffit and fascia
Installing skirting on side of sun porch
Setting 4x4 posts to raise roof of dog kennel
Hauling away old pallets and other items from yard
